Holiday Party Quickly Approaching

Our inaugural MS Mission Possible Holiday Party is coming up on December 14th at 6:00 pm at the Comprehensive Cancer Institute. The idea of this party is to enjoy each other and have fun. We have a few surprises, great food and excellent desserts, since you are all bringing them. LOL! Eager to celebrate the Holiday Season together.

The message for us this Christmas is that we are not alone!

A Successful Mission Launch!!!

It was a pleasure meeting all of you at our inaugural meeting on Wednesday evening, October 12. An overflow room has sent a strong message to us that this Group can be a successful forum for expressing our thoughts, learning and education, and to help others along the path of our MS experience.

Some of you have visited our website, www.msmissionpossible.com , designed by our sponsor, Franciscan St. James Health and the Public Relations staff, please visit it often for updates and messages about our upcoming meetings.

The November 9, 2011 meeting will again be in the Patricia Joyce Comprehensive Cancer Institute on the Olympia Fields campus. We will be utilizing more space to accommodate everyone for the National MS Society program, presented by President John Blazek and Susan Mosher.

The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. Come early to socialize with other members. Food and refreshments will be available.

Please do not hesitate to contact us at info@msmissionpossible.com and visit us and each other on Facebook, www.facebook.com/msmissionpossible

Anticipation....

A support group in our region was simply an idea in February. After alot of work, training, planning and organizing, did I mention training??? A Public outreach to try and find YOU. Support from an amazing group of guys in Franciscan St. James PR department. We are ready to go!!!!!
This Wednesday 10/12/11 @ 6pm will mark the beginning of "MS Mission Possible". Truly, I'm humbled by this event. An opportunity to unite as a group, have a voice, meet some new friends that have the same common challenges. It's exciting to have people in your life who really understand, I cannot wait to meet you!
Together we can live our "Best life with MS". I believe this with all of my heart.

No magic shoes, but magic friends

So I did buy a few pair of beautiful, flat shoes. Neither are magic BUT in this experience, I realized I have magical friends. I since discussed the bathroom trip with my friend and she commented that she was NOT bothered by the looks on the way to the bathroom. She was adamant, she could care less what others thought she was just concerned about me!!! I am blessed with "Magic Friends" the shoes, not so much….

Searching for Magic Shoes

Now, I'm at this place where I'm searching for "Magic Shoes" to help my walking...there are no magic shoes...darn it!

I was at a restaurant last night with my love and dear friends. I caught a few people looking at me as my balance is most compromised when I'm tired, it was dinner time...most can imagine what it looked like as my friend and I went to the restroom. It didn't bother me so much, I'm getting used to it but my friend was definetely bothered. Some how I felt bad for her not myself. I realize it is what it is but she , so sweet and protective was having a hard time.

Dinner was great, I had fun...her not so sure!!!
